    Read the last paragraph.

Gears of War 3 will include dedicated server support, much to the relief of fans, CVG has learnt.

Developer Epic games has made the move in an attempt to address online problems that affected the last game, including sluggish matchmaking and occasional lag, we’ve heard.

Although now mostly addressed via Xbox Live patches, the Gears 2 issues left a bad taste in many early adopters’ mouths – something that hopefully won’t happen again with the third game.

When contacted on the issue, Gears designer Cliff Bleszinski told us that dedicated servers are “just a rumour”.
